About Mobile Pet Doc

Melissa McKendry began her undergraduate degree in the UK and later graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She started her career in private practice then transitioned to emergency and referral medicine while becoming board certified for the Diplomate American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine and feline). Throughout her career she focused on advanced diagnostics, ultrasonography, traveling to veterinary practices to perform services for them. After practicing in the North East and Southern California, Dr. McKendry settled down in Virginia Beach, Virginia with her family.

Dr. McKendry decided to start a mobile service in 2015, after years of caring for animals in the shelter environment, providing comprehensive medical care to the police K-9’s, and handling the forensic aspect of cruelty cases that occurred in the City of Virginia Beach. She enjoys going out into the community and providing services such as medical care and ultrasonography in the convenience of the pet owner’s home.
